100% Glera

Founded in 1935 by Gaetano Marzotto, Santa Margherita is named after Gaetano's beloved wife, Margherita. With a legacy of producing Prosecco dating back to 1952, the winery gained iconic status as one of the first to vinify Italian Pinot Grigio as a monovarietal, separating it from its copper-colored skins. This innovation enhanced the wine's fruity freshness and versatility at the table.

The label features an illustration of the historic Villa Marzotto, later gifted to the town of Portogruaro, located about an hour from Venice. The bottle pays homage to the winery’s storied heritage, with the Marzotto family crest adorning an elegantly draped necktie—a nod to their deep ties to the fabric and fashion industries. The circular front label showcases the wine while incorporating a Venetian-inspired mosaic pattern, reflecting the family's regional roots.

Our vineyards, situated mainly east of the historic town of Valdobbiadene, are dedicated to cultivating the semi-aromatic Glera grape using natural practices. To preserve the purity of the fruit, we hand-harvest the grapes on steep slopes, typically in the second half of September.

The resulting wine is dry, with lively, fine bubbles, delicate pear and apple aromas, and a crisp finish. Whether enjoyed at the start of an intimate evening or throughout a festive meal with friends, this celebrated bubbly brings versatility to the table. Its elegant mousse refreshes the palate, while the greater complexity and intensity of our Prosecco Superiore DOCG can stand up to richer dishes, ensuring it enhances every moment.
